My Most Expensive Podcast Advertising Experiment Yet—Was It Worth It?
My Castbox results + how I did on last year’s resolutions
Hi Besties!
Last year, I set a few podcasting resolutions, and I’m happy to report that I crushed one of them in particular! The others? Well, not so much—but for good reason. I made intentional shifts in strategy throughout the year. Let’s see how I did:
Sustainable strategies FTW
Sustainable content strategies? Hell yes. This year, I’ve been batching and recycling content like a pro, maximizing efficiency while keeping my podcast feeds fresh. It’s been a game-changer, freeing up time for big projects like book writing while ensuring my listeners never feel neglected.
Solo episodes: mixed feelings
I didn’t produce a ton of solo episodes, but I’m proud of the few I tackled. Fun fact: they’re way more work than you’d think! That’s why I didn’t go all in on cranking them out. Moving forward, I want to experiment with super low-key solo episodes like this:
More than just the hits
And bangers? Oh, I delivered plenty this year. But instead of chasing just hits, I prioritized consistency (and sustainability) over everything. That’s where I really shined, especially for my biggest show, Private Parts Unknown.
Consistency is underrated
Consistency was my North Star this year. I delivered regular episodes for Private Parts Unknown all year round and recently got back into a weekly rhythm with The Bleeders.
Showing up consistently is the secret sauce for podcast growth—and growth, in general. It builds trust with your audience and keeps them coming back for more. That’s why I’m committing to showing up more regularly across all my platforms—including here!
So, Besties, what are YOUR podcasting resolutions for this year? Let me know in the comments below!
